Like many of you, I have more than a couple fishing reels, in both spinning and bait casting models. I use them quite heavily, so I consider them more from the perspective of a tool when I’m looking to purchase and maintain them. When you fish only a couple times a year, your choice of reel is less important than when you are on the water consistently over the open water season. We all have our favourites, and I thought I’d share what has become my “go to” spinning reel, the Wire 2000 from Ardent Reels.
